The mission of Christie Lea Thompson, divorce and custody mediator and paralegal, as ChristieLegal, LLC, is to help folks who have a divorce and/or child custody case in Minnesota courts through the court process in a collaborative and affordable way that will improve the lives of her clients and, if applicable, their child(ren) by 1) educating them about their options for resolving those legal issues, 2) helping them resolve their legal issues in a less conflictual way by encouraging the parties to negotiate, 3) writing their court documents, and 4) helping them through the joint divorce and/or custody case court process.

Christie serves folks who have or would like to have divorce and/or custody law cases in all Minnesota courts.

Christie meets with clients mostly online, but also in-person. ChristieLegal meets with clients online using Zoom technology. There are many benefits to meeting online. First, the parties aren’t in the same room or building, so there’s almost no chance of a party having a physical safety issue during mediation and other meetings and less chance of a party having an emotional safety issue. Second, no one needs to drive, which saves a lot of time and money because clients won’t pay ChristieLegal’s drive time fee. In-person meetings occur at her offices at Officenters locations throughout the Twin Cities or at the clients’ / client’s home, if it is located fairly close to Christie’s home in S.E. T.C., MN. Meeting in the parties’ home is good for parties who need to take care of young children. Christie’s travel time to any location, other than Officenters in Woodbury, shall be paid.
